Team Matches

OK. Sorry for the debate. I was just excited to begin this tourney, you know, and after only 1 round the game has been ended. And now I have to wait 3 days. This got me a bit nervous and critical. But probably it was not the case. I will surely enjoy more playing a good game. But really I didn't want to debate this specific case, but the concept in the large. It will be very useful for the next tourney. I think we need to write some more rules specially about replacements and team responsibilities. @Matty - Yes, probably Crystal and I deserved a good game... In fact the opening was very bad! Lolz @Westy - I didn't say you don't have to trust Iparsona anymore. Maybe he had some troubles in his private life, we don't know. By the way I guess you can't use your second account for playing a team game. But really... You cannot have a second account! Lolz No respect for the rules... :(

I agree Bishop, I'm hoping that players in this tournament can give me lots of feedback and suggestions for the next one, so the bugs get all worked out.

[b]2.[/b] [u]Player leaving the game:[/u] neutralized in 2 rounds, as usual. Whatever the reason is. [b]3.[/b] [u]Player not joining the game:[/u] wait 48h then start the game with only 3 players. If you are in a tournament, it's supposed you will check the site daily! [b]4.[/b] In the [u]cases #2 and #3[/u] the player can rejoin at the next game if his mate won playing alone. [b]5.[/b] [u]Replacement:[/u] never allowed. [b]6.[/b] [u]Very first game:[/u] in this case I agree to grant an additional 24h to find a replacement. In total are 72h, as it was for Westparsona team. I'm very sorry Bishop for what has happened with your game. However, i disagree with what you're saying. A team game with one team missing a player is not a good game at all; they hardly have a chance. I think that there must be a priority for good games over quick ones. I want this tournament to be a high quality one, not one where we crank out as many games as possible in a small period of time. The issue with Spartakus and Sekretar is very unfortunate, but there's nothing I or Spartakus could do about that. I think it was fair to give Spartakus 3 days to find a new partner because the situation was out of his control. Having him play by himself would mean he loses for sure. It wouldn't really be a team match anymore. Would you really have preferred that? I do appreciate your suggestions though. I hope the next tournament is an improvement from this one, and the more feedback I get the better.

whats the news with spartakus' game, did he find a new mate? who wins the game that sekerater got banned in?

I'm sorry The_Bishop I can only do as instructed by lifeinpixels under professional etiquette. Can I just say, that a player was banned in my last tournament and no replacement was given, this actually killed me instantly, as it was a 1v1v1v1 match and that player's last act was to place all his travelling troops against my territory exit point, with the rest of his troops at the far end of my territory, which he needed to join up to survive, thus completely blocking me in when forced to stop playing. Had there been a replacement, he would have continued to try and win and so join his troops up and so opened my exit on one side or the other!! Perhaps I should have shouted "Unfair" and asked for a restart due to the circumstances, which only affected me and no other player in a negative way. It served only to take away my strategic advantage.

Aero, go ahead and take out Spartakus' team from the roster. I've asked the teams on the waiting list to sub in, so as soon as one of them gets back to me I'll let you know.

I personally don't really care for the tournament part about it, I just like to try team games and get feedback on it. The more usefull things I know about them, the more easily it will be to one day actually implement them. For that I need good quality games, not ones that are guaranteed to end 3 days later.

[/quote] If you have tougher rules ... then you have quality games ... plus this makes it a standard so when we do get team-games as an option, then members know the rules. Can you see the Admins. on this site doing this on top of what they do now? Putting in replacements for the long term games or just live ones ... Yes Thorpe, maybe it will be good to clarify that to team members in the future. Since it is the first time we are trying this, I thought it was fair to give Spartakus time to try and find a replacement. But I agree with Matty, we must strive for good quality games, not cheap ones just to get through the tournament. That's why I'm trying to get a replacement for Spartakus' team instead of just sending him to fight two players by himself. There's a good chance that Bishop and Crystal will be playing Clarke and Axobongo, I'm just waiting for one more confirmation and they'll be good to go.
