HOODTOWN DEVELOPMENT UPDATE
Work on the external HoodTown guide and Host Desk is progressing well. I have been running full mock Days and Nights to find mechanical gaps before the real game begins.
Recent improvements include:
• Automatic Night-action resolution and private result messages
• Automatic ability-charge tracking for alerts, bullets, vests, executions and other limited abilities
• Day voting, Final Hour locking and automatic lynch results
• Last Wills, forged Wills, cleaned roles and bloodied Wills
• Clear reminders when private results still need to be sent
• Collapsible dead-player records to reduce scrolling
• Full-Moon tracking for even-numbered Nights
• Improved Jester lynch and haunt handling
• Retributionist abilities now return the appropriate information, including borrowed Lookout results
• Automatic detection of Town, Mafia and Neutral victory conditions
The Amnesiac system is also being automated. When an Amnesiac remembers a dead role:
• Their role and alignment will update automatically
• The remembered role will be announced publicly without revealing their identity
• They will receive a new private briefing explaining their ability and objective
A successfully lynched Jester will now be recorded as having earned a permanent personal victory. They will receive a private victory message and may haunt an eligible guilty or abstaining voter during the following Night.
The anonymous HT accounts remain the main feature of this game. Players will still need to conceal their normal writing habits, personalities and alliances while trying to identify everyone else.
The HoodTown website will be provided when the current rehearsal and testing stage is complete. Testing is already proving worthwhile—we are finding and fixing unusual role interactions now instead of encountering them during the live game.
