We need just one image 1365 pixels wide.

well, a croped image will be of bad quality, at least of lower quality than the current one. wouldnt it make sense to use the smaller image i made extra for this purpose?

Yes it makes sense, but only if they look identical. No text changing layout or color please, nor text size changing proportions from one image to the other.

I have just renamed this thread to match the map's new name: Volga & Don Rivers (HD).

@Dima: We're still having the same problem: two different images of the same map. The game interface has a "larger" and "smaller" option to adjust the zoom; the two images aren't supposed to have different graphics. Furthermore, the graphics development progresses through discussion in the forum; if there are two different images, we need two separate discussions, which takes twice as much effort and time. Furthermore, everything becomes very confusing: people no longer know which image they're commenting on.

You have been specifically asked not to create two different images and you did it. Not only that, after all the discussion you simply updated the map your own way, without informing anyone of the occurred changes. You apparently think it's your own website and you can do whatever you want, which is what none of us would ever do. We always work through confrontation and agreement. Or at least we inform the others when we independently change something.

So, here the 2 images recently uploaded by Dima:
Large A (click to show)
Small B (click to show)

"Large A" looks better in my opinion, so I can derive the smaller view from it, by simply scaling the image, with no significant loss of quality:
Small A = Large A scaled to Small (click to show)

Please, notice how the background image in the middle is more detailed in "Small A" than it is in "Small B", so basically the idea of working on 2 separate images to preserve the graphic quality doesn't stand. Many many small details are different between the two versions and there's absolutely no reason for that.

I'll update all this map's images to version A, when I have time.

Bishop, you clearny know how to make issues out of nothing and proclaim the least important issues or issues of zero importance to issues of importance.

there was never a problem with the smaller image being designed extra and nobody ever wanted an extra thread for this. its total nonsense.

and yes, there are some very minor differences between small and large image, but they are only cosmetic in nature and very difficult to spot.

i dont consider any of the mentioned things as important in some way, but nvm.

imo the writings of the regions of the SMALL A look a bit blurry/less clean than in the SMALL B version. but do what you want.

Text in Small B is larger than text in Small A, so it's hard to do a comparison. Even if it is slightly blurred it's still very good and well readable, it's fine for me.
Two different images with things changing size, shape, position, color and opacity looks too much unprofessional, it is not acceptable.
If I could I'd make a mix, taking the better from each image, since I can't do that I'll simply take the larger version.

No, I think it's not the case, it's fine as it is. You have been working on so many maps together, I think this one is complete and you can rest a little bit.
Overall this map looks nice, the gameplay is interesting, innovative and has been positively tested. Let's release it!
Future improvements perhaps are still possible, but let's move on and focus on the new ones for now.
